Sichenzia Ross Ference partner, and leader of the firm’s white-collar defense practice, Andrew M. J. Bernstein will be presenting at “Grand Jury Presentations and Representing Clients in the Grand Jury.” The presentation, which is Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) accredited, is part of the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) 2020 Trial Academy Virtual Conference series. The program will be held, on-line, Friday, August 21, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., and will also feature Catherine A. Christian, Esq., Senior Assistant District Attorney from the New York County District Attorney’s Office, Special Victims Bureau.
Mr. Bernstein will discuss what defense attorneys, representing individual and corporate clients, should consider before their clients appear before a grand jury as either a defendant in a criminal case, a target of an ongoing investigation or as a witness. Mr. Bernstein will also cover how to effectively prepare clients to testify in front of the grand jury and other crucial defense strategies to employ.
